NOLS – National Outdoor Leadership School

Want to learn survival skills in Alaska? Or rock climbing in Arizona? Or maybe you want to become an outdoor instructor. NOLS – National Outdoor Leadership School offers different programs for all ages and skills.

The courses are designed to teenagers and adults, and courses can vary from Sea Kayaking in Mexico to Wilderness Medicine in Wyoming. On every course, students learn leadership skills, outdoor skills, environmental studies and risk management.

Founded in 1965 by legendary mountaineer Paul Petzoldt, NOLS takes students of all ages on remote wilderness expeditions and teaches them technical outdoor skills, leadership, and environmental ethics.”
