Praia da Pipa nice to meet you

I’ve been living in south Brazil for the last 5 months, in Porto Alegre capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Border with Uruguai and Argentina. Yes, it gets pretty cold in the winter.

The ocean is not so close, and I was starting to crave for some beach and surf time. And also I needed some time off from family.

My cousin Manoela is a physician and she decided to escape the city and follow her dream to live in a small beach town. She found Praia da Pipa in the state of Rio Grande do Norte to be the perfect fit for her new lifestyle.

She works 3 days a week and the rest of the time she spends surfing, taking care of the house and her 2 Golden Retriever dogs.

She had been asking to go visit, telling me about the simple yet awesome lifestyle she’s been living. So when I saw a ticket sale that weekend I went for it.

From Rio Grande do Sul (literally “South Big River”) to Rio Grande do Norte (literally “North Big River” – no joke) is 4.000 km or 2.500 miles. It’s the same distance from east coast to west coast in the U.S.

I know, Brazil is huge. And many people doesn’t know.

Well enough talk, here are some pictures I took during my stay.

Enjoy and fall in love. Just like I did.
